FINAL BLOG EVER IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
1) I liked learning the different techniques that are used in movies and how to recognize them when I watch movies that I like.
2) My favorite project was the film from stills because it was fun to come up with an idea and see how well it turned out or didn’t turn out. I also liked the final project a lot because it taught me a lot of things I didn’t know about colors and showed me how much I learned in this class.
3) When we would be working on tutorials together and the guys wouldn’t get serious and actually work.
4) My least favorite project was the narrative because I didn’t know what to do for my story and then I ended up being busy and sick for part of it and had to trust Beth to do pretty much all of the filming.
5) I plan to go to Alfred University and major in education.
6) I feel that it will give me a leg up because I am better with technology now than other people who didn’t take this class. It also taught me time management and how to deal with a lot of stress. Now I will be able to manage time better than some people and I will be able to deal with a lot of stress and not lose it like other people might.
7) Make sure you work hard and manage your time well. Always do your prep work. Always start filming as soon as possible. Don’t rely on others for your project.
8) I am going to miss you Ms. Licata and all of my classmates from this class.
This is the world’s largest stop motion. They did a fantastic job and it is very impressive. They did a good job of creating a story and then putting it in action. I am amazed that they did this.
This is a video of a few people trying to pop a giant water balloon to put it in slow motion. The slow motion parts of this are done very well and are interesting to watch. They do a great job of keeping good exposure and lighting in the whole video.
AP test week
This week I learned that AP tests suck and that my final project can cause major levels of stress. In the future I hope to learn how to stay less stressed. What made me happy was getting my final project handed in and DAV handing it in for me. What frustrated me was having to take an AP test and finding out that the stupid Air Base trip is mandatory.
This is a clip from the movie Across the Universe. I love this clip because of all the different angles and shots they used. I really like that they keep it interesting and keep the audience’s attention. I like how they do simultaneous shots of the two different places and funerals.
This is the music video for We are Young by FUN. I really like their use of slow motion. I like how not only the people are slow motion but the things they are breaking are too. It looks really good and is really interesting. I like the different angles they used when they shot this video as well.
Prom Week
This week I learned that doing interviews is more work than I thought. In the future I hope to learn how to do more special effects. What frustrated me was Final Cut messing up on me on Thursday. What made me happy was getting an extra day for my final project and being able to help Dav.
This is a movie clip from Lord of the Rings The Two Towers. It is very well done considering how tricky it is. They did a very good job of getting both sides of the conversation to match up. It is very smooth and one of my favorite parts of the movie. The tone that the director is going for is caught very well and expressed to the audience extremely well.
